Yoga on Yamhill is going back to Mindbody, what you need to know...

Ugh. It's 1 am and I'm still working on this. Harder than I thought, but I think most everything is working right; however, I've added a few new notes to help alleviate any confusion.


Yep. And, yes, it is kind of embarrassing! OK, so let us briefly tell you WHY and then tell you how this will work and what it means for you.


Why, why, why, why, WHY-EEEEE?!

3 easy reasons:

  1. WIX Payments were kind of sucking for our students with memberships and class packs, who were still getting asked to specify a donation amount at checkout! This has caused a LOT of confusion and, while WIX agreed it is a bug, they haven't fixed it yet.

  2. WIX stopped processing our payments when they saw certain words, yes, just the words, on our site. To get payments working, we had to "sanitize" the site to not have those words (thus, David's class became "Avant Garde Yoga." This sort of corporatism runs counter to our mission and ideals.

  3. Having signups in both WIX and Mindbody was kind of sucking for the teachers, who had to use TWO systems when modifying or cancelling classes, or even doing check-ins.


So, here we go again...

After midnight, July 21st, our site will stop using WIX bookings and payments and go back to Mindbody. We've already tested it and the site won't change in ways most of you would even notice, but some of you will, and here's how:

  1. If you have a membership or class pack on purchased between June 1st and July 21st, we will migrate it to Mindbody for you, including creating you a new account on Mindbody if needed. We will send you and individual email both before and after we do this, to keep you up to date. This is done and, if you were one of the 12 or so people affected, I sent you an email and you should be all good to go.

  2. If you joined as as a new member during the month of June through July 21, you may not have a Mindbody account. You will have to simply re-register using our login form when you next book a class.

  3. Duh. Login has changed and is now through Mindbody. If you don't have an account there, you will have to create a new one, but it's easy, all they need is your name, email, and phone, as well as payment info if you are booking anything.

  4. Events are right now still working through WIX, as are Gift Cards. That was small enough that I thought it was OK to leave that until tomorrow (my neck hurts so bad...).

  5. I had to disable Plans & Pricing for today. It's just going to take a little more work to get that going. It should be working in a day or so and I'll update you here.


The Good News...?

That's all, folks! The site will still work in the same way and so will Mindbody. We will continue to honor all paid class bookngs made prior to July 21st; however, if you need ot make any sort of changes or need a refund, please use the contact form on our main page. We get a notification when you do that, and will help you quickest this way.


And, don't worry... we probably won't do this again for 1000 years 😉
